Our Annual Shoot, during the Labor Day weekend, is a two day extravaganza.

Two days of shooting, including the 2nd SASS Maine State Black Powder Shootout.

Each day is a complete, separate shoot.

You can shoot either or both days, smokeless or black powder.

Both days will have a door prize giveaway.

Trophies will be awarded to class winners of the SSAS ME Black Powder Shootout.

Lunch is included in the registration fee for all of our shoots.

Fall Charity CAS Shoot, 6 stages

Our last shoot at the end of October is a charity shoot.

This year’s charity and details will be announced at a later date.

Blue Hill Rifle and Pistol Club held its first SASS Maine State Black Powder Championship:

Our first SASS sanctioned State Black Powder Championship was held over Labor Day weekend. On Saturday, at our 7th Annual “Festival of Cowboy Shooting”, 45 cowboys and cowgirls followed the footsteps (and gunfights) of Billy the Kid as they relived the Lincoln County War. Sunday brought fair skies for our Maine State Black Powder Shootout. There was just enough breeze to dissipate some of the clouds of smoke that belched from the firearms of the 26 shooters. Some of the stages encouraged shooters to “give ‘em both barrels” with their shotguns! Now that is a “blast”! “Mustang Mabry”, aka Bob Ellis, was shooting his Walker Colt cap & ball pistol one handed ala “Josey Wales”. At 4 1/2 pounds, the Walker is a handful, with a muzzle blast equal to a 44 magnum! Our own “Stormy Shooter” aka Sue Bryant, was the top overall shooter in her first ever black powder match. Everyone had lots of fun, and we received many compliments for hosting a great weekend of shooting.
